We carefully and thoroughly clean our inventory. We put time into restoring or refurbishing our games and consoles. We're not a huge operation, and we take pride in every item we sell. It's part of our philosophy not to rush when listing our items for sale.

We choose the slow method instead of a "quick flip" because we truly appreciate and value every item we sell. It makes us happy when we can restore an item to some of its former glory. 

2. We don't use stock photos. 

We offer high quality images of the real item for sale.

(In a small number of cases, the item you will receive may not be exactly the same as the one pictured, but will be in similar condition. When this happens, we always make a note in the description to inform you that this is the case. You are welcome to contact us directly, and we will send you photos of the actual item you will receive before you place your order.)

3. We put effort into writing honest, item-specific descriptions. 

We will not sell an item if we cannot verify that it is authentic. We do not sell reproduction games, only the good old original copies! Moreover, we make careful notes about the details of every game and console we sell. For example, we mention the following things about each item:

  • Approximate condition and any visible signs of wear from age and use,
  • Whether it is complete with its manual, map, poster, or other inserts (Loose, Missing Manual, or "CIB"),
  • What system(s) it will play on,
  • Which release or variation it is (i.e. Black Label, First Print, Greatest Hits, Collector's Edition, Platinum Hits, Player's Choice, Nintendo Selects, etc.),
  • If a sleeve, protective case, or another accessory is included,
  • If we have replaced the case or reprinted the artwork, and
  • If we have refurbished/restored the item in any way. 

4. We commit ourselves to careful packaging. 

Every order is hand packed with attention to detail. If damage happens to occur during transit, we will make it right via a return or an exchange.

5. We offer Free Shipping by the end of the next business day. 

We offer Free Shipping via USPS on every item in our online store. All orders received by 12pm EST on any given day will ship out no later than the end of the next business day. We ship to all locations within the United States serviced by USPS. If you need to request shipment via a different carrier or to a location outside of the United States, please contact us directly to place your order.

6. We offer Free 30 Day Returns. 

You may return an item for any reason within 30 Days from its date of purchase. We will even provide the return shipping label for you. Once we receive the item back, we will verify that it's still in the same condition as it was when we shipped it out to you. If everything looks good, we will issue you a full refund. 

7. We stand behind our Refurbished Consoles & Handheld Systems with a 12 Month Warranty. 

If you experience any issues with the function of your Video Game Gem Vault Refurbished Console within 12 months of its purchase date, we will replace or repair the console/handheld at no cost to you. Our warranty sticker must be intact and undamaged on your console in order for us to honor the warranty. Please contact us directly with any warranty inquiries. 

8. We offer responsive, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable customer service.  

We are gamers, collectors, and proud refurb nerds ourselves - we are happy to help you out if a question or an issue arises. Your satisfaction is truly our top priority. You may contact us here if you need anything! We return all calls, texts, and email messages in 48 hours or less.

When we couldn't find what we looking for locally, we have spent time sifting through online listings looking for that perfect copy to add to our collection. The collectors in us have been frustrated by lack of quality photos with very little information offered in the product description. The gamers in us have been frustrated as well when we've received poorly cleaned cartridges and scratched up discs that won't play.

    When you're ready to let go of certain video game titles or consoles in your collection, consider selling them to us!

    We offer cash money or digital gift cards in exchange for your games and systems. 

    How to sell us:

    1. Contact us with what you have. You can email us at play@videogamegemvault.com or text us at (517) 400-7264. Pictures are appreciated so we can best assess the scope, completeness and condition of the items you have to sell. 

    2. We will email you a buy quote within 3 business days containing a cash and/or store credit offer to buy some or all of your video games and systems. Quotes are good for 14 days from their date of issue.

    3. Consider our offer and contact us if you choose to accept it.

    4. Ship us your items using your carrier of choice. We will reimburse you for the cost of ground shipping via USPS, FedEx or UPS once we receive and inspect your items. We ask that you ship out your items no later than 14 days after contacting us to accept our offer. 

    5. Get paid for your items and reimbursed for shipping costs. 

    Once we've received your items, we will inspect them. We will check to make sure no items are missing and that the buy quote we issued reflects the actual items we have received. Once we've verified that everything looks good, we will send you payment for your items and reimburse you for the cost of shipping the items to us.

    We will send you payment for your items via one of the following methods that you choose: a mailed Check, CashApp, Venmo, or Paypal. Included in your payout will be a reimbursement for the shipping cost of sending your items to us. This reimbursement is in addition to the amount we offered you for items. So, your total payout = buy offer + shipping cost reimbursement.

    We will email you to let you know that we have sent your payment to you. We will send you payment for your items within 3 business days of receiving your items.
